A Night Out and a Night In

That evening Isabella, Kate, Tony, and Steve all left the Tower and headed towards the charity ball downtown. While Isabella was dressed in her strapless, black sequinned dress with the high cut slit on the right leg, Kate was dressed in a more classically elegant dark blue lace dress with her hair pulled back into a messy French Twist. She, however, looked no less beautiful. They were all driven by Happy over to the venue and as soon as they exited the car they were met by photographers and reporters. Kate stood arm in arm with Steve and allowed Isabella and Tony to speak to the reporters and answer questions. With that out of the way they were then able to head inside.

Serena and Peter were enjoying a night in. They had gotten some cheeseburgers from their favorite diner and had selected a 1950s SC-FI 'B' movie to watch and make their own commentary. This was one of their favorite things to do together. Serena sat next to Peter on the floor and she smiled over at him. "I love you Peter."

Natalya walked down to Evan's room. She knew he was inside and she hesitated a moment before knocking on the door. "It's Nat. May I come in?"

Tony waved to the various people that were snapping pictures all around them as they exited the limo. A couple reporters tried to get close enough to them to ask questions but they were held back by security. Some did yell out their questions and Tony answered them as he usually did, stealing the limelight. He had his hand around the thin waist of his wife Isabella during the entire thing and Steve and Kate took the opportunity to get inside.

Peter loved these evenings. He was off from work and he had already did all of his homework. But he was less interested in the show and more interested into the fact that Serena’s parents were not home right then. Still he liked hearing those words from Serena. They had replaced her bed though getting it out of storage without anyone knowing was a trick. He looked up at it then back over at her. “So...your parents will be gone until late tonight?” Peter asked in that way he did when he was thinking of being...mischievous.

“Come in,” Evan said. He was sprawled out on the floor on a thick, white rug that looked like some kind of skin from an animal. Maybe a polar bear. He was reading a book next to the electric fireplace that they all had in their rooms. He was dressed only in black jeans. As soon as he saw Natalya he closed the book then sat up to regard her. “I was hoping you’d stop by. Without them here it feels like i'm at my parents house and they’re gone somewhere for the evening,” he said with a smile.

Kate stepped inside with Steve. The room was filled with the rich and famous, but as soon as Kate and Steve walked in they caught everyone's attention. It was difficult for them not to be noticed anywhere they went. Kate gave Steve a little smile and whispered to him. "I know this is for a wonderful cause, but I would give anything to be back at the Tower in our room with a bowl of ice cream in my leggings and a sweatshirt right now."

Serena grinned a little at Peter and saw him glance at her bed and then back at her. "Why yes...they will." She was surprised by how bold he was becoming. "Did you have something in mind?" she said in a sexy whisper.

Natalya walked in and closed the door behind her. She glanced around Evan's room. Any room she walked into she instinctively glanced around it...even if she had been in that room a thousand times. She saw Evan laying on a white rug on the floor in front of the electric fireplace. When he sat up she walked over and sat down next to him. "I...I just wanted to say thank you for last night. I really appreciated your comfort."

The mayor of new york and his wife were there and he was very happy to show ‘Captain America’ off to all of his friends. Tony and Isabella were equally as hunted and almost as they hit the front doors. It was Steve though that had several young women asking for his autograph and as usual he gave it to them though he would have preferred to spend the evening showing Kate off...especially since he was about to make his own big announcement in front of everyone. He touched the small, black felt box in his pocket through his pants to make certain it was there. It was and he smiled a sigh of relief.

Peter nearly melted at the sound of her voice. Serena has this way of speaking that made his heart immediately go into overdrive. “Well, I suppose we could start with my usual coy attempts at seduction but tonight...how about we skip all that and just jump to getting naked,” he said His cheeks burned right then but he had said it. Serena did say she wanted more of his unfiltered thoughts and this definitely applied.

Evan looked up at her and tilted his head as he tried to decipher her mood. “Everyone needs someone sometimes. I’m glad I was able to be there once more for you,” he said. Obviously he was referring to the time when he had stumbled onto an SSB plot and Natalya was considering leaving the agency which they responded with a boatload of assassins who tried to kill them. Holding her in until she fell asleep was decidedly easier then that

Kate was gracious and polite and made small talk with everyone they encountered. She smiled as Steve signed autographs and paid no attention to the little flirting the girls did with him. It usually just embarrassed Steve and made him blush and Kate quite enjoyed that. It was amazing how different he was with her in private. That shy man turned rather confident and bold in the privacy of their room, though that had taken time. She loved both sides of Steve. He meant everything to her and she couldn't envision her life without him. As a waiter came around with a tray of champagne flutes they each took one. They smiled and clinked their glasses before taking a sip.

Serena felt her own cheeks grow warm at Peter's words. She grinned at him and was no longer interested in the movie. She leaned over and kissed him.

Natalya nodded a little. It was difficult for her to show her vulnerable side. Really only Evan and Logan had truly seen it. She was glad that neither of them passed judgement on her based upon it or saw her any differently. "Evan...I...I know that you want something more between us. I would be lying if I said I didn't. But...I'm not ready for anything yet. Everything with Malcolm is still too...fresh. Will you give me time?"

After being lost to time and in that, losing Peggy, Steve never thought he’d ever be where he was now. Especially since he was no normal man. Putting himself in harm's way was his life but by a stroke of luck he found Kate. Or she found him he could not be certain anymore how it came to be. Kate was just human but what she lacked she made up for in guile and perseverance. If the woman was down to just her bare feet and hands she’d still not back down from a fight if she thought it needed to be fought. She cared for the people she swore to protect and she would never go against that oath. Just like Steve. He squeezed her hand and smiled at her as they sat side by side at their table.

The ball was set up with long tables with white table cloths, silvered flatware, china and crystal. Chandeliers covered the ceiling and the large dance floor was to the side with an actual band that played 40s and 50s style music which made Steve very happy.

There were alot of speakers and no one knew that Steve was coming up to say a few words. He had set this all up perfectly and he hoped he didn’t embarrass Kate to much. She was alot like him in that she liked to keep her personal life private and away from the public eye.

Logan was on his way to Pharaoh’s room whose room was on the corner of the large floor. He passed by the kitchen that was dark then paused at Peter’s room where the crack under the door was also dark just like Natalya’s room was. He wondered if she had left when he heard noises coming from Serena’s room and his eyebrows drew up when he figured out what those noises were. ‘Ah to be young’ he thought as he moved past and turned the corner. Evan’s room has a light under the door but he didn’t hear anything there. He did smell them though. Natalya was in there and he sighed as he passed by. As his senses picked up another scent though he paused and lifted up his head to sniff the air. It was an odd scent, one he could not apply to a memory. For some reason that concerned him and he turned back the way he had come and headed back toward the main living area.

Peter kissed Serena as their bodies moved together. Her arms were woven tightly around his neck and he felt the heels of her feet were up around the backs of his legs. He could feel the warmth of her body against him and indeed it did feel to him as if they were one unit that moved together. Save for the extreme pleasure he was feeling right then. Their bodies seemed to fit together like a glove to a hand. He felt her hands move to pull back his face so she could look into his eyes and he knew that she must see the love and desire in them as he saw in hers. He barely thought of her parents at all.

Kate had no idea what Steve was planning. She was just happy to be there with him. Things had not always been easy between them, but she truly loved him. He made her happy and she hoped that she made him happy as well. She knew she would never replace Peggy in his heard, and she didn't want to, but she was glad he had made room for her there as well. Steve Rogers was one of a kind, and not just in regard to the Super Soldier Serum coursing through his blood. She had never met another man like him and felt honored to be sitting by his side. Ever since losing her parents she had felt...lost and alone...being a rather powerful mutant as well did not help matters. But then Steve had come into her life and had taken away that lonely feeling and had made her feel whole again.

She looked around them and smiled at him. "This actually isn't too bad."

Serena was lost in a sea of pleasure. Feeling Peter's body against her own was enough to drive her crazy with desire. He hid an extremely well toned and tight body underneath his clothes and though she knew part of it was due to the spider bite...part of it was him. Her own body was a little softer, but still tight. Her parents were pretty healthy eaters and that had (for the most part) transpired to her. She also had started working out with Natalya and Kate. The women were training her in hand to hand combat, per her father's request, and that was having an effect on her body as well.

She moaned and her toes curled. When Peter kissed her she kissed him back just as deeply. She was totally and completely in love. Peter was the one for her. They were young, yes, but her feelings for him weren't going to change. She felt that deep down into her soul. Peter was the man she was going to marry one day.

She moved her hands up to the sides of his face and pulled him back for a moment so she could look deeply into his eyes. She felt him pause in his movements. "I love you Peter Parker...so much."

Evan didn’t look at Natalya. He could feel how she felt by just how she spoke. “Natalya, if you feel as if I’m asking you...ok, maybe I did come on strong,” Evan admitted and winced. He really had no idea what was happening in Natalya’s life or that she and Malcolm had been close. He saw her and all of those feelings he had felt for her suddenly boiled up in him. He kissing her was just him trying to drain that sudden flooding of emotion. It had worked but now he knew he had set an uncomfortable precedent for her. He did want Natalya. He thought about her alot if not all of the time. He fell hard for her and even though her file had tempered those feelings seeing her again affirmed for him at least, what he truly felt. He wasn’t some schoolgirl crushing hard for a girl yet he could certainly feel butterflies in his stomach.

“I didn’t know about...I won’t lie and say I don’t want us to be together. But I don’t want to just set my feelings aside. So I’m glad you came to speak to me,” he said and looked over at her finally. “And since we are being honest, I do want to begin a romance with you...to see if what I felt...if it’s really true or just caused by the danger in the moment. I guess I’m willing to wait...it takes two to be in that mindset but it's not easy wanting you like I do. Even seeing you...here, now...your face, your lips, haunt me in my dreams. I’m not like Logan. I won’t be satisfied with what I can get. I want all of you Natalya,” he said and ended speaking her name in a very warm whisper. Their short time together had been filled with unbridled passion and heat. He had never been that way with a woman nor had a woman been that way with him. She had left a deep impression into his soul and probably had no idea what or how she did it. Evan forced his hands to stay holding his book for fear that he would reach out and touch her when she did not want that right now.

Natalya had never thought she would see Evan again. She had often thought about him and wondered where he was or what he was doing, but deep down she had feared that what he had felt for her had been temporary. She could spark desire in a man with just a glance, but love? That was something else entirely. Love meant trust...full and complete trust. Most people didn't trust her and she couldn't blame them for that. She had been trained to be a killer and a spy. To get the information she needed any way she could get it. She had lied...she had lied so much that she never knew where one lie ended and the other began. Evan had been the first person she had not lied to...although to be honest she hadn't been entirely truthful either. Her life was complicated and messy, but Evan hadn't cared. He had helped her without asking for anything in return.

"Malcolm didn't know about my past," she told Evan in a soft voice. "He was in love with the part of me he knew. I have since wondered if his feelings would have changed if he knew the truth...the full truth about me. I cannot escape my past...not ever. It's apart of me and always will be."

“Escape?” Evan said as if asking a question. He wasn’t though he knew the answer. He had read this as well in her file. “I don’t picture you as someone who runs from a fight. But there must be a reason SHIELD has not removed the SSB nor the SSB, SHIELD. This ‘tolerance’ of one another has always been...odd to me,” Evan said honestly as he thought about the strangeness of it all. “I think it is the same with you. If they stay away from you then there is no fight, yes? Though…” He said with an inflection in his voice that he would continue though he wasn’t certain how she might take what he was about to say. “If Tatiana...I think that’s her name, was in front of you, would you tear her head off or allow her to go her own way if she said she’d leave you be?” he asked. Evan was the consummate optimist. He wanted to see the best in everyone yet was intelligent to know that some people had no good side. Still, he had learned from his mother that showing respect to an enemy allows them to see the road to peace. Offering them a chance to retreat has done well for him in the past. Compassion, what Logan called a weakness of his was actually the reason he loved Natalya so much. He had used his power on her while she slept and felt what she felt. The fear, rage and self loathing he felt in her was like a tidal wave of emotion. She desperately wanted to be free of it all and instead chose to transcend everything that had been done to her and use those emotions for the greater good. ‘Hate and Rage’ were alien emotions in Evan. But he hated who the SSB were and Raged against what they did to such a beautiful creature. He lifted up his hand and softly touched her cheek.

“Natalya, you’ve owned up to what you did and were willing to accept what came. Your past will always be apart of you but it does not own you...not anymore,” He said. His eyes were wet to he noticed. Overcome by the cruelty she had been forced to endure for all those years. His heart went out to her even if she wanted it or not.

“Malcolm may not have known but he was drawn to you still. Give yourself some credit. And then there is Logan and myself,” Evan added as he looked into her dark eyes. God he wanted to kiss her! “I know it all and I’m not going anywhere. My room is always open, for you Natalya,” he said but what he really meant was his heart. He wanted to say more but decided to just leave it at that. She needed time and he would give it. When you ran with someone, you went at the pace of the slower runner.

Natalya wasn't sure what she would do if Tatiana was in front of her. Part of her thought that she would just kill her without a second thought for all that she had done to her, but then she thought about Logan. He hadn't killed her. He had given her a second chance even though he hadn't known anything about her other than the fact that she was a killer. It was because of his compassion and belief that she was more than what he saw that she was alive today. Would she give Tatiana the same chance? That woman had never given her a chance at a normal life. She had created her and made her into what she had become. It was because of that woman that she had killed...and the reason she hated herself. Perhaps she would let her go, just to allow her to live with the knowledge of all that she had done. It was the same knowledge that Natalya had to bear herself and it was a constant weight on her shoulders.

She looked deeply into Evan's eyes and knew that he would accept her for all she was...good and bad. Just knowing that brought tears to her eyes. "I don't deserve you Evan."

Evan twisted at the waist and brought up his other hand to hold her face. He wiped away the few tears that had formed below her eyes then smiled at her. He was going to kiss her now, he hoped she would not be upset at him for it. As he began to shift toward her though all of the light in the room winked out as well as the flicker from the electric fireplace. Beyond the room Natalya would also note that even the air stopped stirring as if the entire tower had gone silent. She might hear though someone…’Peter’ moaning rather loudly, with all of the ambient noises now gone.

Peter felt Serena’s body change as if she wanted him to stop and he heard what she said but his body wasn’t having it. He was so close to an orgasm though he shook his head. “Just...I’m...Ohhh..,Mmmmm,” He exclaimed as he did orgasm and hard to! It took him several moments to actually be capable of responding to her. “Whats going on?” he asked breathlessly. Serena would see even Jarvis’s panel near the door was dark. She’d also know that all the doors would be electronically locked.

Ghost waited for his flashdrive to do its work on Jarvis. Once he saw that Jarvis was shut down he gained access to the buildings power and backup and turned it all off. He had already set up a dampening field generator on the roof so no one would be able to get a cell signal in or out. ‘Its just you and me now Tony Stark!’ He growled inside his head.

Natalya let Evan caresses her face. She leaned into his touch and looked deeply into his eyes. She saw him lean in towards her to kiss her and she did not move back or stop him. She wanted him to kiss her. However, just before their lips touched all the lights of the lights in the room went out as well as the electric fireplace. She heard the air conditioning go out as well. She waited a moment for the backup generator to come on, but it never did. She found that...strange. Jarvis should have been communicating with them at this point, but she noticed that the panel was dark as well. "Something is wrong..." she said as she stood up. All of her senses were heightened and she was now on full alert. She walked over to try and open the door, but it was electronically locked. She looked over at Evan. "Can you get us out of here?"

Serena sat up and looked around the room. She felt that something wasn't right. Her father had programmed a very powerful backup generator to switch on if the power was to ever go out. But it hadn't come on and Jarvis was silent. "I...I don't know Peter." She quickly got up and got dressed.

Ghost waited for his flashdrive to do its work on Jarvis. Once he saw that Jarvis was shut down he gained access to the buildings power and backup and turned it all off. He had already set up a dampening field generator on the roof so no one would be able to get a cell signal in or out. ‘Its just you and me now Tony Stark!’ He growled inside his head then cackled almost maniacally as he activated his lure.

“Tony Stark! I’m coming for you! It’s your old ‘friend’ Ghost! Come and meet your fate or I will kill everyone in this tower!” He said though it was only an audio device he planted in the center of the main living area. He knew there were others who lived here including the avengers and his wife and daughter. He would do as he said though he had never killed someone just out of spite. Those executives had tried to murder him. Men like Tony Stark who were like a disease in this world and he needed to be wiped away, scoured clean from it!

Logan heard the voice and he turned quickly on full alert when he saw Pharoah step up to him. “Logan...what's happening?” Pharaoh whispered. “I don’t know, but I intend to find out” He replied. It was very dark save for what little light came through the windows.

Evan created a shadow as large as the door then held onto Natalya’s shoulder and they walked through it and came out in another shadow about the same size just on the other side of the door. Peter shouldered the door and it shook. They were designed for some serious damage and the heavy bar locks were likely slid into place. Both Natalya and Evan heard the door down the hall rattle and the scrape of metal on metal.

“Serena, you heard...if we stay inside, then he won’t be able to get...us,” Peter said but it was clear what he was about to say. ‘Get you’ was what he was going to say and they both know with her new power she could get through this door easily.

Natalya felt Evan's strong hand on her shoulder and she watched as he created a shadow the size of the door that they were then able to walk through to the other side. She had heard Tony talk about Ghost before, but she had never met him. If this guy was looking for Tony tonight then he was going to be disappointed. She glanced over towards Serena's room and knew that Serena and Peter were there. She walked over and spoke to Serena through the door. "Serena, stay in there. Peter, I'm trusting you to keep her safe."

Natalya then joined Evan, Logan, and Pharaoh. "Anyone know where this guy is?"

Serena just stood there a moment staring at the door and then she looked at Peter. "I'm assuming you're going to want me to stay here too?" When he hesitated to answer she sighed and began to pace. "I can't just stay here and I don't need protecting. I can fight and yet I'm still treated like a child."

Peter was still half in and out of the euphoria he had felt making love to Serena. He was somewhat putt off that she was easily able to shrug it off as if they hadn't just been having sex a few moments ago. “Well, not until now,” He mumbled softly to himself but obviously she had heard him by the way her eyes bored into him. He felt that she hadn’t acted like a child until just now. If people with more experience thought they could handle whatever it was without her, she should take that advice. But instead she took it all as an affront to her inexperience.

Logan found the audio device and he bent over and picked it up to look at it. ‘Damn, I was hoping it would be him,” He growled but before he could put it down Pharaoh stepped up behind him. “You found something?” Pharaoh asked. It was very dark in here and he could only see vague shapes in the darkness. “Its just some kind of recorder,” Logan said then he heard something rolling toward them. “Look out!” Pharaoh shouted and dove backward as something hit Logan’s shoe and then exploded.

Unlike a bomb might explode this sent chains of electricity around logan, tangled him up into several constricting bands and he growled as he fell and began to convulse as he was stunned by the shocks that ran up and down his body. Ghost had night vision goggles on and he shot his pistol at Pharoah who flung himself over a couch and dodged. He tossed a psychic blast behind him but Ghost had phased already by then and it passed through him. He saw Natalya and Evan move toward them and as he raised his arm something flew off of his wrist at them. Evan found himself sliding across the floor as Natalya shoved him hard away from her as she dodged the other way. Something hit the wall behind where her head had been and then it exploded leaving a black, burned mark on the wall though they couldn’t really see that. The explosion wasn’t far from Serena’s door and the room shook with the blast.

Back at the charity event Kate could sense some apprehension coming from Steve. She didn't know why he was anxious and his mind seemed elsewhere as she tried to talk to him. Suddenly, she saw someone motion towards him and he got up and headed towards the microphone.

Isabella was sitting next to Tony and she was surprised when Steve suddenly got up. Then, the realization of what he might be about to do hit her. "Do you think he's going to...?"

Natalya just barely managed to shove Evan out of the way as a device detached from Ghost's wrist and came flying towards them. She dodged the other way and narrowly escaped the explosion. She jumped back up onto her feet, but couldn't see Ghost. She figured he was in the room still though. "Tony isn't here and we're not exactly the entertaining guests type. So I suggest you leave."

Serena could hear what was going on out in the other room an her entire room shook from the blast of the explosion. She knew that she needed to do something. They needed to get in touch with her father. She first tried her cell phone, but quickly realized that the cell signal had been blocked. She looked around and her eyes fell upon the comm system. There currently wasn't any power running to it, but perhaps she could use some of her own energy to power it just enough to reach her father. She had to at least try.

"I'm going to try and get a message to my father," she told Peter. She approached the panel that was built into the wall and touched it. She then closed her eyes and her finger tips began to glow red as she began to shift some of her energy down through her arm and into her fingers. That energy was then transferred into the comm system. Suddenly, the panel began to glow with power. It was faint, but it would work...it had to. She pressed the button that would connect her to her father's watch. It was a low frequency but she hoped it would work. "Dad...I don't know if you can hear me, but something's happening here at the Tower. Ghost is here and is looking for you. He's cut the power to the entire Tower. You need to come back."

Feeling her energy draining, she removed her hand from the comm system and the panel once again went dark. She sat back on the bed to rest, but Peter might be able to see her staring at the door. He might realize that she was thinking about disintegrating it in order to get out.

Peter rushed up to hold her up as she looked as if she were about to sag. “I wish jarvis was working, we could call your suit,” Peter said as he helped her to the bed.

Logan grunted and gnashed his teeth as he began to grow numb to the electrical current that flowed into him. He growled furiously as he extended his claw and severed a cord he could reach with it. The electricity stopped and he rolled over onto his back as his clothes and even his flesh smoldered do to the heat from the electricity.

“You lie, I know he’s here, or his wife or his daughter. I’d start with him if he wasn’t such a coward but I’ll take his wife or daughter if I must!” He said. Evan opened up a shadow beneath him but ini his corporeal state he just continued to hover above it . “We need to attack him in concert, get him to become tangible,”Evan said but before they could do anything he pivoted and held some kind of device in his hand.

Ghost was looking into an infrared scanner that worked through his special goggles. He saw two people in a room behind a locked door. “Ah...I see them now,” He chuckled darkly but as he took a step Logan was on him, growling and snarling like the wolverine that he was. His claws touched nothing but air but he had distracted Ghost for a moment.

“Hello...my name is Steve Rogers but some of you might know me as Captain America,” he said and the crowd went wild with applause and whistles from some the women. It calmed down when he held his hand up. “Thank you. I just wanted to say how important this charity is to so many people that need so much. I and Kate Blackwell,” he said and put a hand over his eyes to shield them from the lights as he looked for her. “Kate, why don’t you stand up and let em see ya,” He said and as she did the crowd applauded her as well as the spotlight swapped to her. However as she tried to sit down again Steve spoke up. “Wait a moment Kate, just a moment,” Steve said.

“Kate and i have been fighting the good fight for years now and I am proud to say that she has been a good and loyal friend, my best friend and if I’m being honest she is much more than just a friend to me,” He said and the crowd murmured at that. Tony hadn’t even been paying attention to his speech. He had received an odd message and he brought out his phone to port it over to it so he could try to configure it. Isabella saw him looking at his phone and he heard her whisper his name as she was embarrassed at what he was doing. Steve pulled out the box from his pocket and gripped it in his fist. ‘Its almost done...you just have to say it Steve and then go over and put the ring on Kate’s finger’ He thought as the silence stretched.

“Well so far everything has been unofficial but I can assure you ladies, I am completely off the market,” Steve said in a rare attempt at humor. It did illicit several gasps and sighs though. “Not because I love her but because I’m asking…” He began then Tony stood up. “Cap!” He said in a hurried rush and did not notice Isabella’s wince and her expression as if she wanted to crawl under the table. “Something’s happening at the tower...we gotta go, now!” he said though both Steve and Kate seemed to be in disbelief at first as they hadn’t even moved or looked away form one another. ‘Did they not hear me?’ Tony thought. “Kate...we gotta go, now!” He said and helped Isabella out of her seat.

Serena looked over at Peter as he helped her to sit down. "I hope my dad got that message. The frequency was weak so it's possible it didn't make it to him. I feel like we need to do something Peter."

Natalya knew that Evan was right, but it was difficult to coordinate an attack in complete darkness. The worry about coordinating an attack slipped away into a greater fear when she realized that Ghost had located Serena. They couldn't let Ghost hurt Serena. Natalya would give up her own life before she allowed that to happen. Her eyes had adjusted enough to the darkness that she saw Logan lunge towards Ghost as he stepped towards Serena's room. His claws swiped at the air, but she saw that Ghost was distracted for a moment. She lunged towards him in a full out attack.

Kate sat in her seat as Steve stood up and took the microphone. At first she smiled at him because she thought that this was just a speech about how important it was to give back to those less fortunate. She blushed a little, but stood when Steve asked her to stand. She began to sit back down, but paused when Steve asked her to remain standing. She looked at him and suddenly her heart began to beat harder in her chest. This was no ordinary speech. She felt her mouth go dry as he continued on and tears began to fill her eyes. Her eyes never left his. When she saw him pull something from his pocket she actually felt her body begin to tremble. The rest of the room disappeared and it was only Steve and herself. When he actually started to say those words that she was anxious to hear she held her breath. However, before he could finish the sound of Tony's voice shattered the moment and the rest of the world returned abruptly. Her eyes remained on Steve's for a long moment before she finally looked over at Tony and nodded. She began to switch to agent mode as she followed Tony and Isabella out of the room. The rest of the room was in shocked silence, but everyone began to whisper as Steve left the room.

"Tony, what's going on?" Isabella said to her husband as her worry began to grow. Serena was at the Tower.

Ghost was not as fast nor as skilled a fighter than neither Logan or Natalya but he certainly knew how to use his abilities. He took out 2 knives and as they engaged him he’d see their attacks, slice at them then go incorporeal again until they struck, go corporeal and slice again. Natalya felt his knife bite into her twice but only one of the wounds was of any consequence. Logan got the worst of it though by blind luck he had sliced through some of his armor. Even could not do much save for trying to erect a shadow over his head to even the odds. He also angled shadows to protect them from his knives which allowed Natalya to avoid two other hits that she certainly would of taken. As they continued fighting he stepped into a shadow and appeared inside Serena’s room. “Ok. We need to get you to your suit,” he said and held her and Peter’s shoulder as they stepped through his shadow. “Peter I’m,” he began but Logan’s yell quieted him. “He’s coming down!” Logan yelled. As Ghost moved right down into the floor then appeared above them. “Ah a Stark at last…” he said as he floated down to the floor. Peter lowered down ready to leap at any moment or to attack him with a web. Evan began to weave dark energy in a complex pattern. He heard the others running down toward them and grinned as he stepped toward Her.

Tony and Isabella has their suits from the trunk and while he held Steve, Isabella held Kate as they flew very quickly toward the tower.

Serena looked over at Evan as he suddenly stepped through a shadow and into her room. She nodded a little when he said that they needed to get her to her suit. She would feel better having it on and it would be able to replenish her energy reserves. She allowed Evan to hold onto her and saw him touch Peter's shoulder as they stepped through the shadow down into the lab. However, before Serena could get her suit Ghost appeared, having used the same shadow portal to get into the lab. Serena's eyes narrowed at the figure. "I have done nothing to you."

Isabella was incredibly worried about Serena. They didn't know exactly what was going on, but something was happening. Isabella held onto Kate as they all flew towards the Tower. It was dark and Isabella's fear began to increase by the second.

Ghost drew his pistol and held it to his side. “A Ghost has no compassion nor mercy, for he is already dead,” he said. “Serena, any lasts words? I’m going to kill you now,” he said. As he said it Peter went berserk. “The hell you will!” He shouted and lunged at him. Peter jumped through the man ofcourse and Ghost shifted his arm and shot Peter in the back. As he did though Evan Attacked as Serena screamed and attacked as well.

Serena felt a wave of fear come over her as Ghost suddenly aimed his pistol at her. She didn't know what to do, but suddenly Peter attacked him. Peter went right through him and to Serena's horror she watched as Ghost aimed his pistol at Peter and shot him in the back. She screamed and rushed at Ghost to attack him.

Isabella, Tony, Steve, and Kate landed on the helipad and all quickly rushed inside. It was dark but they soon encountered Logan, Pharaoh, and Natalya. Natalya held her side, which was bleeding from the knife wound she had received.

"It's Ghost. He's here and he's looking for you Tony," she told him quickly. "He, Evan, Peter, and Serena are in the lab. He's going after her now."

Isabella looked at her husband with genuine fear in her eyes and rushed towards the lab.

Everything seemed to happen at once and Serena ended up with a knife at her throat though Evan had damaged more of his equipment and perhaps Ghost himself. “Ghost she’s just a girl!” Evan said pleadingly. “Serena...he cant hurt you not if you use your power,” Evan said suddenly and Ghost laughed. “Serena felt his blade dog into her flesh but he hadn’t slit her throat yet. “To bad, I wanted Tony to see this,” he said and Evan began to weave his power again in hopes he could interfere with him somehow.

Serena suddenly found herself trapped in Ghost's arms with a knife at her throat. She did her best to remain calm, but as she felt the knife dig into her neck she a wave of fear came over her. She felt some blood begin to run down her skin and into her shirt. She then realized something. The blade was made of metal and it was touching her. She concentrated on the blade and suddenly it began to disintegrate just as her parents and Kate and Steve came into the lab.
