A Balancing Act (July 2012)

Serena was excited to learn what she and Peter had done in this other world. Mini arc reactors? She had talked to her father about it at one point, but he hadn't thought it was possible to make them any smaller than what he had made. Clearly though they had made it work in this other world. The uses for it were almost countless and she knew it had the potential to do a lot of good. She began to think about the algorithm. It would possibly take years to figure that out, but now that she knew it was possible she wanted to do it.

She smiled and continued the kisses.

"So, that sounds like Nobel Prize winning work..."

“Just a nomination,” he said softly into her lips. They had only gone out for a burger and fries but being able to talk to her again. See her, smell her and touch her made Peter’s heart sing. They headed back to the tower and by now the web mixture was ready.

In the lab Peter got into his suit and recharged his web cartridges. He showed her a little bit, first hand, of what he could do and how limber and flexible he was. He shot webs up onto the metal support frame near the ceiling and swung up, flipped and came to stand up on a rafter. He saw her smiling from down on the floor and he smiled and webbed her around the waist then hauled her up to him. On the rafter he pulled Serena close and kissed her softly.

“I hope you feel what I feel Serena,” he said as he pressed her hand onto his chest. His heart was beating hard and fast with her being so close to him. “This romance that’s sparking...between us. I would be lying if I didn’t have hope that it would happen. Now that it’s started…” he said as e held her face into his hands. I don’t want it to end,” he said as he kissed her again so softly their lips barely touched.

Somehow Serena and Peter managed to finish their burgers and they headed back to the Tower. Serena was fascinated by the webbing Peter had created. He used cartridges that were attached to his suit underneath his wrists to shoot the webbing. She stood down on the ground and watched as Peter shot some of the webbing high up onto a metal support frame near the ceiling. The webbing was extremely strong...strong enough to support his weight as he swung up onto one of the rafters. She smiled up at him and suddenly he shot some of the webbing at her and grabbed her by the waist and brought her up to him. He pulled her close to him and kissed her and she closed her eyes and kissed him back. She felt him take her hand and place it upon his chest. She could feel his heart beating hard underneath it and she could not deny that her own heart was beating just as hard and fast.

"I don't want it to either," she whispered against his lips.
