Well, It's Only a Suggestion (July 2012)

Peter’s eyes looked as if he had more to tell her, something that she hadn’t asked and that perhaps, part of him wanted her to. If she had used her ability he could tell her everything and not betray his promise to Tony. For himself he could not explain why he was there. Why he ‘felt’ as if he knew Serena more than he actually did. He felt...closer to her that he was right then. She looked and seemed so familiar to him.

Peter shrugged and felt embarrassed by her compliments. “We all do what we can, when we can Serena. If I may ask, you have a keen mind, why didn’t you go back to finish your degree. You obviously have a mind for science. I could get you back in, even put you on my research team so you can finish your master’s,” he said. “Not because your Tony’s daughter either. On your own merits as a scientist,” he said. “Obviously it’s in your blood, will you consider it, at least?” He asked.

Serena got a strange feeling as she looked at Peter. It was as if she knew him really well and yet she didn’t. She felt comfortable and relaxed around him. It was as if they had known each other for years. She had a feeling there was more he could tell her, but she didn’t want to betray his trust by taking advantage of this situation. She listened to him as he asked why she hadn’t gone back to school to finish her degree. His offer was quite generous.

“I still just needed time to get over what happened. Your offer is very generous though. I promise I will consider it.”
