The Healing Begins

Calene was surprised by what she saw when she entered the bathroom. There were lit candles and something cool to drink. She knew it wasn't wine, but he had taken the effort to put it into a wine glass. She slipped out of her robe and into the tub. She knew when Deshane stayed that he probably wanted to talk about something...and she had a good feeling she knew what it was. However, she allowed him to rub her shoulders and then gently massage her body with the towel. She closed her eyes and slowly began to relax. He began to speak softly and it was exactly what she had figured he wanted to talk again about. Deshane had never liked the city and he wasn't afraid to tell her so. She also knew he didn't like her sitting at court all day (and neither did she to be honest). She felt Deshane's fingers move down her rounded stomach and in between her legs and she knew he was trying to distract her...and it was working. She moaned softly and felt her desire grow rapidly. However, she managed to get a hold of herself. She gently pulled his hand away so she could talk to him with a clear head.

"I have...thought about it more and I will admit that it sounds...wonderful. I'm just a little concerned about moving away right now with our first baby due so soon. I will need my mother's help in those first few months. Can we wait until next spring at least? Would you do that for me and then I will go with you?"

Deshane sighed knowing that once again Calene continued to believe that she needed anyone.She was more capable than she allowed herself to be and it irritated him. That and she stopped him from doing what he wanted to her. He tried to keep the anger that built up out of his voice." Why do you continue to think that you need anyone Calene?" He said as he withdrew. He felt her try to hold onto him so he relented and allowed her to hang onto his arm. "We can do what needs to be done ourselves. Having a baby is a natural process we don't need anyone's help," he told her.

He didn't like living here and he was tired of the noises and the sounds of the city. He missed falling asleep under the trees.

Calene had thought Deshane would be happy with the compromise, but it was clear that he wasn't. She felt herself growing more and more upset. She wanted to make her husband happy and she felt incredibly guilty about all of this. She felt a few tears come to her eyes.

"Fine Deshane...whatever you want," she said, giving in. She was willing to give up the only home she had ever known and having her mother's help for him.

It was obvious to him that she was just once again shining him on. She'd agree right now but work at ways to dismantle what he wanted and shift it to what she wanted. Her voice and tone said it all. "Bah!" He said and got up. He hobbled out of the bathroom then left the house without his cane. He slammed the door behind him and pounded  on it then left not knowing where he was going. His foot hurt but his mind wasn't registering it right then. He doubted she'd ever want to leave her family. He was stuck like a field mouse in an Owl's talons.
