New Additions To The Crew Stardate 2258.25

Kaia and Elyse went to their rooms to get settled in. After unpacking, Kaia changed into her new uniform. It was a red dress with long sleeves featuring the Star Fleet insignia. She pulled on her new boots and took a moment to fix her hair. Making sure she had her pocket communicator, Kaia left her quarters. For some reason she wanted to see Kirk. She hadn't seen him in two years. She told herself that it was only to re-establish their connection so she could possibly start to get deeper information about Star Fleet from him, but what she didn't realize was that something deeper had already been developing. 

She used the corridor computer to locate the Captain's quarters. She soon found herself standing in front of the door. She knocked and waited until she heard him say "come in". She stepped inside and the door closed behind her. Kirk's back was to her as he was looking at something. 

"Well...I always knew a Captain's uniform would look amazing on you."

Kirk was looking on his desk computer to see how the refit was coming along. He wanted to be underway as soon as possible. He was, like everyone else, excited about their mission. With the war with the Klingons starting to calm down, he didn't feel so much like a thief in the night taking the fleet's flagship out of the fight. He blinked when he heard a familiar voice and he turned his chair around.

At first he wasn't certain what he was seeing. Kaia Fox? In the new uniform? was she...here for a visit? Or...OR, is she part of the crew now? Kirk smirked at her. "Well I was wondering if I'd ever see you again," he said as he stood up. He was in his gold shirt with black, bloused pants and black boots. He smiled at her as he came into hug her. And he did hug her, warmly and kissed her cheek. "I've thought about you often Kaia," he said as he let her go. And he had. he had missed her a great deal.

Kaia smiled at Kirk and wrapped her arms around him to hug him back. His familiar scent filled her nose and memories of their passionate nights together came flooding back to her. As he let her go, she smiled at him. "I thought about you often too," she replied. And it was the truth. She had thought about him often. "I see you've done well for yourself," she said as she moved a little further into his quarters. "My room's not bad. Right next to the air conditioner though."

It took real effort on his part not to take her into his arms and kiss her until their lips began to to hurt...if not more. He smiled that smile he held when he was uncertain of himself. Her perfume, he had forgotten the name, made him feel a bit giddy. And she had this scent to her. This smell when she began to sweat that was all her own and wonderful. And, she was just as beautiful now as he had remembered her.

"So. somehow, you came out of the academy as a Lt. JG. I'd like to hear about that sometimes," he said. 'After I make you moan so loud...' No...no, he was her Captain now. Spock hadn't known...Well, how could he of? Kirk knew.

"I can help you with that. Our Yeoman's had instructions to keep a few of the nicer rooms for dignitaries and such. I'll have him move you," he said without hesitation. There were 4 different room styles for Officers. Hers was the smallest but he'd put her into one of the largest if she let him.

Kaia knew she needed to be careful here. There was a fine line she was walking and she didn't want to overstep her bounds and draw attention to herself. If she was going to spy for the Romulans and communicate information to them she needed to blend in, instead of stand out. Having Kirk treat her differently than everyone else would certainly cause her to stand out. 

She shook her head when Kirk offered to have her moved. "I appreciate the offer, but I'm alright. So, how have you been? I was worried about you."

"You mean with the war? Not great. The Federation's taking a pounding but with all Federation ships, Vulcans, Andorians, Tellarites and everyone else, We outnumber them. That and the Klingons are like wolf hunters. They travel in smaller packs and attack one another. Their organized..." he said then stopped. "I'm sorry, that's probably not what you meant. I'm fine Kaia. I mean...Lt. Fox. I look forward with having you on the...I mean...seeing you on the bridge," he amended. 'having you immediately made him think of having sex with from behind as she knelt in the Captain's chair. He had to try to keep some sort of professionalism when he was around her or this would not work. She was obviously here because Spock chose her so he had to see what he saw in her.

"I'm going to need your help on this mission," Yes, talk about the mission. Good call. "If you're as good as Spock thinks you are, your efforts here could bring more races into the fold. God knows we could use more friends right about now," Kirk said.

Kaia took in the information that Kirk began to tell her. Knowing that the Federation was weakened by the Klingons was definitely information she could use. She smiled at him. "Well, whatever I can do to help I will gladly do. I won't let you down James...sorry...Captain. It's going to take me a little while to get used to calling you that instead of James."

"I know...we'll just have to muddle through," Kirk said. He tried to keep the conversation light-hearted. He smiled and kept a good outlook. "Well you'll be in good company. I gave some of my best people to other ships who I thought could use them better. Not that our new recruits won't be just as needed here on the Enterprise. I'm supposed to be receiving a new Helmsman...did he come in with you?" Kirk asked.

Kaia nodded. “Yes, except ‘he’ is a ‘she’. Her name is Elyse Turner.” She saw recognition in his eyes at the surname. “Yes, she’s from that family. I don’t think she’ll disappoint you. She’s definitely very dedicated to Star Fleet. She recently served on the USS Zephyr.”

"No shit, well, man or woman, if she's a turner then I'm happy to have her aboard. "I look forward to seeing you in action Kaia," Kirk said with a coy smile. 'And let her interpret that however she liked' he thought. "And it's good to see you again," he said in a light dismissal. He had alot of work to do and no time to do it.
