The First Time (August 2002)

Kate looked up at Steve and smiled a little. "I'm not suggesting moving in together or anything like that, but it will allow you to come and go as you please."

Kate got up and put on her robe and went out and made some coffee. She and Steve talked some more as they drank some coffee and then Kate began to get ready for work. Steve only had the tux to put back on, but he didn't put on the tie and the dress shirt was left partially undone at the top. It was difficult for them to part from each other. Kate gave Steve the extra key to her apartment and then they kissed some more before she finally and playfully pushed him out the door. She knew if he stayed any longer they would only end up back in bed together.

Back at the Tower, Isabella noticed that Steve wasn't around. She began to make breakfast in the kitchen and when Tony came in she looked at him. "Tony, have you seen Steve this morning?"

Somehow, the coffee Kate made for him was the best cup of coffee Steve had ever tasted. She sat in his lap in her robe as they had their coffee but it was obvious to him that she had to get up and around and get to work. He dressed in just his pants and shirt. He had his coat and tie draped over his arm as she pushed him playfully out the door. When he turned back to face her he saw her looking at him as if deciding if she wanted to be late or not. Steve smiled at her as she worked it all out in her head. But she sighed and shut the door. Lucky for her, he would have had her back in bed if she pulled him back in.

When Steve came up in the elevator Tony and isabella were already up. He had his coat hung from his finger over his shoulder. He waved at them as he headed for his apartment. They both just smiled and gestured good morning to him with their coffees. Tony looked at Isabella.

“Hmm, I think it went well,” He said with a wink. “What about you, did you enjoy last night?” he asked suggestively.

Theo was still in his pajamas when he came into Serena’s room. He yawned but had a mission. To tease his sister...ofcourse. He hopped onto her bed and chuckled when she startled awake. “So...Harry Osborn eh? Harry and Serena, sitting in a tree, K I S S I N G!” He sang then protected himself as she sat up and threw her pillow at him. He laughed delightedly at her blushes.

Isabella poured a cup of coffee for both Tony and herself. She prepared them both the way they liked it and handed one to Tony. She started to take a sip of hers when suddenly she heard the elevator. Her eyes widened slightly in surprise when she saw Steve get off. He was dressed in his tux, although it was clear that he had only put it back on this morning. She couldn't help but smile because Steve looked so happy.

She grinned over at her husband when he asked her if she had enjoyed last night. "Do you mean the party...or the 'after party'?"

Serena was still asleep when Theo came into her room. She was suddenly startled awake by Theo when he jumped onto her bed. When he began to tease her about Harry she grabbed her pillow and playfully threw it at him. She then settled back a little and looked at her brother.

"I still can't believe he likes me. There are so many other girls at school who like him...but he likes me. I guess I'm still trying to figure out why."

Tony just smiled and did not clarify to her what she asked. He knew she knew anyway.

“Oh come on! Your beautiful Serena. Beautiful, one of the smartest girls...hell, smartest people in school. And, you got boobs now,” Theo said and tried not to laugh. Then he saw her move and he rolled off the bed. He opened her door and darted out and knew she was right on his heels. He had gone too far and knew she was angry now. He ran for the breakfast nook for safety but the look in her eyes was pure violence. He ran behind their parents behind the table. And then he saw her shift and he shifted to keep the table in front of them. Their parents just looked on and smiled at them.

“Harry and Serena, sittin in a tree, K I S S!” he began but then he heard her growl and she shifted then faked and shifted back. He knew he was caught and she flung herself bodily at him.
