Another Close Call (November 2012)

Isabella felt the tension rise in the kitchen and for a moment the two men appeared to be staring each other down. Finally, Frank broke the tension and Isabella gave Tony a look that told him that if he didn't behave she was going to make him pay for it...greatly. She then poured Tony and herself each a cup of coffee.

Steve, Kate, Natalya, and Logan all came in a few minutes later and Isabella introduced Frank to each of them. They had all sat down with their coffees when Serena and Peter walked in. Looking at her daughter made Isabella's heart break. She looked tired...no, exhausted and there was guilt in her eyes over Richard's death. Isabella stood up to introduce Frank to them.

"Serena, Peter, this is Frank. He's an old friend of mine who I think might be able to help us. Frank, this is Peter Parker and our daughter Serena."

Frank had never met Logan and the others but he ofcourse knew who they were. He had to admit he was a little bit taken aback by all of the Avengers in one room at the same time. When he saw Peter and Serena move to the table he waited for isabella to introduce them properly and then there was a short silence.

“Well, you don’t seem any worse for ware kid, our time is short so I’ll cut to the chase. I’m guessing that you don’t know this woman and have no idea why she could want to do you harm? If you’ve thought about this an still come up with nothing than it must be someone angry and Isabella or Tony or both. Tony, I’ll need a list of everyone who you guys took down in the last 5-10 years. And cross reference that with who might also hold a grudge against you or Isabella, personally that doesn’t include the rest of the Avengers,” Frank said as he pulled out a small notebook and pen and the conversation began.

After breakfast was over Frank had a few pages of names and he had listened to what Serena and Peter said about what had happened. Once they gave their information Frank stood up. “Well, I wish me coming here was under better circumstances but I have something to work with. I’ll get on this right away,” he said.

Isabella walked him to the elevator. “Whomever this person is, they want to cause harm and pain, suffering. This is personal. Dont accept any packages that are not opened and tested,” Frank said. “I’ll try and get this done fast but I can’t make any promises,” Frank said.

Isabella was relieved that Frank that come and she hoped that he would be able to help them. However, she would never hold it against him if he couldn't. The situation they were dealing with here was unique and clearly these people were well organized, trained, and prepared.

She walked Frank the elevator and had another few moments alone with him. "I know you can't Frank. I just appreciate you being here and trying. If you need anything else from us please let me know. And please...be careful. I already lost one friend because of this woman, it would kill me to lose you too."
