The Right Time
Eomer remained 'skeptical' about Narisa's intentions with Calaren. He felt that she was just going to stall again but Lindariel had done much to avert his attention to other things and so he let her alone...for now. She did however catch her after Calaren had left. Narisa was on her terrace watching the night unfold above her. It was a cloudy night and the large moon drifted in and out of the clouds. Lindariel stood at the doorway and Narisa saw her come onto the terrace. Lindariel smiled and took a seat near her. For a while she had said nothing. She only watched the sky as Narisa did. It was peaceful to watch the stars and the wind was almost nonexistent.
"Calaren seems nice," she said finally. "I think I remember him...you were friends before?" She asked not wishing to pry too much.

Re: The Right Time
Narisa stood out on her terrace just looking up at the stars. It reminded her of the night she and Calaren had snuck out and found a spot to look for shooting stars. The night had been peaceful and quiet...just like tonight. She heard someone walk out onto the terrace and knew it was her mother. She looked at her slightly, but said nothing. She looked back up at the stars and smiled when she spotted a shooting star streak across the sky. She heard her mother finally speak and she came over to sit beside her.
"Yes, we were friends."
"Yes, we were friends."

Re: The Right Time
She saw the unhappy look in her eyes and knew what that was all about. She sat back and shook her head slightly. "You know, I once thought that you two being so much alike would make you closer. It is not easy to see this rift between you," she said and knew Narisa would know about whom she was speaking. She had had to sit silently through their arguments. Watch while Eomer spoke harshly where she knew Narisa needed a softer hand.
"Your father is disappointed in himself...that is why he is so hard on you. He feels he has done something wrong. That this is his fault that you have not yet found someone," Lindariel said then leaned in as if to whisper a secret. "As if all women 'had' to find a man," she added. Lindariel did not believe that was so, not in the least bit. Women were accomplishing so much and not always with a man behind them.
"I only want you to be happy. When I lost...when I lost Jamie...I thought I'd never find happiness or love again. It all felt dead inside me. He had put up with so much and still he loved me with all his heart, even when I thought I didn't want him. Now I don't know what is between you and Eagan...I have ears too daughter," she said levelly. "But Calaren looks at you like a man looks at the woman he wants to marry. A man like that could make you happy if you gave him a chance," she said and looked up at the sky again.

Narisa listened quietly to her mother as she spoke. She knew immediately that she was speaking of her relationship with her father. When she had been younger they had been close. He had her on a horse before she could even walk and then personally taught her to ride and fight. However, as she began to mature their relationship became strained and they began to argue almost daily. Narisa was tired of it...exhausted. She only wanted to make her father proud of her...to have him speak about her the way he spoke of Theodred. She felt more of a nuisance to him now. She wanted to make him happy...and it seemed that marrying Calaren was her only option.
She was quiet for a very long time before she finally spoke and broke the silence.
"...I will marry Calaren."

Re: The Right Time
Lindariel shot her daughter a look. She was actually surprised in this decision, she thought that Narisa would have taken more time.
"Narisa," she said and sat up and leaned in toward her. "Do not by hasty, I will not have you regret your decision or feel you are being forced into it. Your father does love you. He can grumble awhile longer if it must be so," she said. She was afraid Narisa was doing this for the wrong reasons but then, what were the right ones? She wasn't certain now. Calaren and her had history and friendship, that must was obvious. Why not love, in time?
"Do you...love him?" She asked. "Do you love Eagan?" She added belatedly.

Re: The Right Time
OOC-So all moved in at this point. Still have a lot of stuff to put away and figure out what to do with though. Woke up this morning after my first night to snow, which is rare here, so that was fun.
IC-Narisa bit her lower lip as she considered what to say. She felt torn. She knew she had promised Eagan that she wouldn't say anything, but she knew her mother would know she was lying.
"...Yes, Mother...I do," she finally said. She actually felt somewhat relieved to finally say it to someone.

Re: The Right Time
ooc: I am so happy for you! I know your a lady and all but here is a bit of advice. If you keep things just to keep them, consider displaying the things you should if you keep them. If you do not display them, then why keep them?
Re: The Right Time
OOC-That is an excellent point. I have been trying to get rid of things and declutter a bit. It's going to take time for me to figure out where everything is going to go, but I will certainly keep that in mind.
Just so you know, I am going to be flying out to California on Thursday for my grandmother's memorial. I will be coming back on Monday. I will have my laptop with me and will try to respond when I can. Besides the memorial we are just going to be cleaning out her condo and dividing up items.

Re: The Right Time
ooc: god I hate 'dividing' up things. I'm one of those people that keeps my memories inside. I tend not to like alot of things sitting around. When I remember someone, its most likely due to some activity or during a holiday or event.
Re: The Right Time
Lindariel looked over at her daughter then. Was she sad or just numb from it all? She couldn't tell right then. "Then how can you marry Calaren? If Eagan is in your heart then he is in your heart Narisa. Your father does want you to be happy. If you are not you won't be the only one who feels regret. So tell me now...do you have feelings for Calaren too?" She asked.
Re: The Right Time
Narisa didn't know what to say. She felt torn and angry...both at her father and at Eagan. She was trapped, or at least she felt that way. She wanted to do what was best, but also wanted to be happy.
"I...I do have feelings for Calaren."

Re: The Right Time
"But even I can see that you are conflicted. Agree to let him court you nothing more," she suggested. "That will both appease your father and keep whatever promise you have made to Eagan," she said in a knowing gaze. When Narisa looked over at her Lindariel gave her a withering look. She was wise and knew Narisa very well. She wasn't unhappy with her exactly. She herself had been far from conventional at times. Narisa finding real love in this world of politics and deceit warmed her heart. To have both of her children happy meant a great deal to her. To have grandchildren stomping around Edoras would make her more so and happy couples made lots of happy grandchildren. This she knew well.

Re: The Right Time
ooc: new thread, sorry for the delay, im going to mexico soon and I have alot of stuff here at work and at home to tie up before i go. Those dates again are Jan23rd to Feb13th. i will have wifi access and my phone will have Verizon International...stuff so I can use it. I am somewhat concerned about this work trip. I will be alone for the most part and other than Cancun I've never been to Mexico. I am still wondering how I got put into this position. I was transferred from R & D to Powertrain and now I'm traveling to Italy, Mexico and I heard possibly Brazil. WTF happened? I hate planes and airports!
Re: The Right Time
OOC-Are you going to be in or near a major city in Mexico?

Re: The Right Time
OOC-Well, I'm sure that you'll quickly find things to do when you aren't working or if you have a car maybe you can go on a day trip or two.
