Biography:

Due to complications following Jason's birth, Jason was an only child. His parents were of lower middle class and Jason got involved with the wrong people at school and in his neighborhood. He ended up serving time for theft and possession of illegal substances, but a judge decided to give him a second chance. Jason could either join Starfleet and clean up his act, or return to prison. Jason decided to take the deal and it turned out to be the best decision he ever made. He got away from the groups he had been involved with and was given a sense of purpose. He graduated just in time to join the Enterprise right before her 5 year mission.
