Biography:

Lucia was born to a low income family in Caguas, Puerto Rico. From an early age she knew that she wanted to join Starfleet after seeing a Latina officer in uniform walk into her father’s shop. She had asked her what she did with Starfleet and the woman told her that she piloted and navigated the ship she worked on. Lucia told the woman that she could never do something like that, but the woman told her that if she put her mind to it and studied and worked hard that she could do anything she wanted.

Lucia was already an excellent student, but she studied even harder. By the time she was in high school, her older sister Clarita was already on the mainland and Lucia’s parents sent her to join her sister in order to get an even better education. Before graduating high school, Lucia applied for Starfleet and when she got her acceptance letter she was ecstatic and she knew what degree she wanted to purse. She graduated at the top of her class and was assigned to serve on the USS Enterprise for its 5 year mission.
