Biography:
Amara was born to John and Mireya Novak, two high ranking Star Fleet officers in a Star Fleet hospital on Earth. When Amara was 6 years old her father was chosen to Captain the USS Aurora, a science vessel that was tasked to install listening posts along the Federation/Romulan border, and her mother was made the Chief Science Officer. Because the mission was not considered dangerous Amara was brought along. However, the ship hit a Gravidic Mine that had malfunctioned and crossed the border to the Federation side, causing severe damage to the ship. The ship lost power and began to veer over the border into Romulan territory. Two warships were detected and a distress signal was sent out. However, their communications officer did not speak Romulan. As the Romulan ships began to form an attack pattern Amara’s father gave the order to abandon ship. Mireya took Amara and put her into one of the escape pods. However, she and John decided to stay to see if they could restore auxiliary power to the Aurora. Amara was in her escape pod when she saw the Aurora be destroyed by the Romulan ships. Debris from the Aurora struck her escape pod and pushed her over the border. Her escape pod was captured by the Romulans who ultimately decided not to kill her, but to manipulate her into working for them. Amara was taken to live with a Romulan family who worked for the Tal Shiar. There, she was trained to become their ultimate spy.
