The Funeral (February 2012)

Serena blushed and smiled at what Gambit said. She looked up and found herself looking into his eyes. She saw him look from her eyes down to her lips and then back up to her eyes. He wanted to kiss her...that much was clear and strangely enough she didn't feel herself pull back when she thought he might. He didn't kiss her though. He pulled back and straightened up. He bid her goodnight and then left.

Her parents came by for her birthday. They brought a few gifts and Isabella brought a cake she had made. It was a chocolate cake with raspberry buttercream. They spent the day together and at no time was the subject of Evan brought up. Tony was still working on getting the charges against her dropped. It was good to see them though.

The next day Serena was summoned by Charles to his office. He asked her about the teaching position they had offered to her. She could certainly teach science. Science was something she was passionate about and was more than qualified to teach life sciences. She knew it would be good for her to have some structure once again in her life.

"I have thought about it Professor Xavier and I would love to teach these classes."
