Tony had worked on the submarine for almost a year. It had been a pet project at first but the Oceanic science administration or OSA had taken a keen interest into Tony’s new deep ocean exploration submersible. It wasn’t nearly as large as anything the military had but it used his repulsor technology and his improvements in his latest suit designs that allowed them to handle some of the deepest water any human had ever gone. The sub he called Durius moved slowly as it moved along the programmed route, automatically avoiding the ice flows. This far north there was always ice but it was an excellent place to test the sub without prying eyes. The cockpit was actually somewhat large and the sub had 8 rooms with 2 bunks each, a community bathroom and shower, a small mess hall, a small game room and a large engine compartment on the lower deck. This test he had brought Isabella along and with the pilot seat pulled back she moved up and down upon him as she straddled him. She still had on her compression shirt just like Tony did but her naked legs were drawn around Tony’s hips and she moaned as she made love to him while the others that had come with them were sleeping. She held Tony’s face in her hands firmly as her lips attacked his. They had not seen one another for over 3 weeks with how busy she had been with the Expo gearing up. Tony held her hips but let her do all the moving. He could tell she was close and interfering now would only delay her orgasm that was certainly about to happen.

The active sonar began to ping something metallic as the sub zoomed along but as Tony reached out toward the panel there was no way Isabella was going to let Tony move as the pangs of pleasure hit her.

Isabella could not believe how quickly this past year had flown by. After returning from their honeymoon Isabella and Tony finalized the plans for Stark Tower and, after the obligatory ground breaking photo, the real construction began. Isabella threw herself into her work and plans for the Stark Expo were coming along quickly and relatively smoothly. She was enjoying her work, although at times it meant that she and Tony did not see each other for weeks at a time. Tony was busy himself with various projects, including the very submarine that they were currently on. OSA had taken an immediate interest in it and Tony was more than happy to show it off. Isabella had finally gotten to a point in the Expo planning process where she could relax a little and was finally able to spend some time with Tony. The two of them had barely seen each other in three weeks, which was torture for them both.

Isabella hadn't planned on having sex with Tony in the submarine, especially since they weren't alone, but when she knew everyone was asleep she just attacked him. Three weeks was too long for them to not be together and Tony did not fight her. The fact that they might get caught seemed to turn Isabella on even more, although she did keep herself as quiet as she could. Isabella just reached an orgasm when suddenly she heard the active sonar begin to ping something metallic near them. Isabella collapsed down onto Tony in the aftermath of her orgasm as the pinging continued.

"What is that?" she asked in between her heavy breathing. She slowly looked over at the panel to see if there was any indication of what was down there.

Isabella was about to move off of Tony but he held her there for a few moments longer. He had not had an Orgasm yet, he never did when she was on top but the pinging was distracting them both now. As they picked back up their compression pants Tony leaned forward to look at the Sonar. “Jarvis, what is that?” Tony asked softly. “It appears to be some kind of plane, Shall I go in for a closer look sir? The laser scanner is out of range,” he said as Tony turned to look at Isabella. She was bent over to get a leg into her pants and his attention was drawn to her very nice butt. “Don’t get comfortable in those pants,” he said and she looked back at him and caught him checking out her ass. Well, there is always later he decided. “Go ahead,” Tony said then with reluctance turned to face the view screen as Isabella put on her compression boots.

One of the things they tested was the diver door and air lock. Isabella’s suit was designed to handle this extreme pressure and already once she had gotten into her suit and moved around a bit outside the sub. She had also identified points of stress on the hull of the sub which Tony would fix after the test was done. The sub had a set of large arms and a set of small arms to manipulate exterior elements, The large arms were not as fine-tuned as the smaller and the smaller had a bank of tools it could attach to use them. The large arms had a few attachments as well as a directional flood light. Tony shifted back as Isabella came to sit into his lap. He had taught her most of the controls and she flicked on the flood light that lit up the area ahead of them.

They saw the bright green of the laser scanner and an image began to be drawn into the view screen. A wing of what looked like an airplane stuck out from the side of a large iceberg. “What is that?” Tony asked and he held onto Isabella as she leaned into the screen to get a better look. All color down here was washed out but she knew an old plane wing when she saw it. And she saw the german insignia too.

With the floodlight on, Isabella could see a little bit better through the murky darkness. The sudden light caused fish to flee and left her with a clearer view of what was in front of them. It was definitely a plane wing. "Well, it appears to be a plane. German, judging from the insignia, and looks World War II in design. Just based on the wing though this plane looks massive. It was definitely not just a fighter jet."

Then, a thought came to her that made her stop cold. "Wait...didn't Steve Rogers crash near this area? He was in Johann Schmidt's plane..." She looked back at Tony to see if he thought she was crazy.

Tony tried not to smirk and then gave her a suspicious look. “One photo with Steve Rogers with his shirt off and now every plane we find in a block of ice was his,” Tony said mockingly then tickled Isabella’s ribs. She hit him in the shoulder and told him to stop or she’ll get the giggles for sure though he knew that. Tony shook his head and brought the sub in closer. From how much of the plane was in the ice he couldn’t see the number. He sighed and paused. “Alright, go get in your suit, we’ll dig it out,” He said and Isabella nearly leaped from his lap. ‘So much for hot sex in the sub’ he thought and began to load up the large cutter on the large arms. The sub could launch small probes as well and the monitor off to the left could view 4 probes at the same time. He launched 2 for right now though.

As Isabella was launched into the water she felt the suddenness of compression but only a millimeter or 2. Tony knew what he was about when he made these suits and each new version of them made them stronger. Isabella could lift tons and her suit could withstand tons of pressure as well. As Tony employed the large ice cutter she took the portable one that the small arms could use. There was an exterior tether plug that allowed her to attach it and use it. Between the two of them, the sub and her own efforts they managed to cut a large hole in the ice big enough for her to slip through. Amazingly the inside of the plane was mostly just filled with water though there was ice in places. The plane was indeed massive and very old. The 2 probes zipped past her and up and bathed the area in a soft blue light from the flood lamps. The plane was long so it was going to take time to conduct a proper search. However as she moved further in there was a large chunk of ice on the floor in the corner of the large cockpit. At first it just looked like ice but when the blue form the probes hit it she saw a man’s arm inside the ice. The hand was gloved and the color looked purple in the blue light but she didn’t need to see the red to know what it was.

Isabella quickly got into her suit and as she was launched into the water she felt it compress slightly around her. However, she knew it would withstand the pressure of the water around her. Tony did not joke around when it came to the protection modifications he built in to her suit. If she was going to wear the suit he wanted to ensure that she was going to be safe.

Between herself and the ice cutter Tony was using, they were able to cut a hole in the ice large enough for her to fit through. She slipped through the hole and was able to get a better look at the plane. It was bigger than she had even imagined it might be. The probes Tony had sent out moved ahead of her to flood the space with light. She moved into the cockpit area and looked around. Suddenly, a block of ice caught her attention. When the light from the probes were cast over the ice she could see that there was something...no someone inside. The hand she could see sticking out was gloved and she didn't need a second look to know who the hand belonged to.

"Tony...so when we tell this story we are going to need to omit the part about us having sex in the sub...because we just found Captain America."

Isabella had to use one of the drones as a power source to power the ice cutter. Tony had told her to just leave it after it was expended and she did as she focused on carefully removing Steve Rogers corpse from the ice. If he knew what that drone cost she would have strapped it to her back so Tony would not. “So what are we going to do with a Cap Sicle anyway?” Tony asked. His voice came through her Helmet and in the drone’s viewscreen he saw her just shake her head.

“And it was ‘you’ who attacked ‘me’. I was just an innocent pilot forced to succumb to your wiles,” Tony said as he watched her carefully cutting more ice. His top half was exposed but his bottom half was still in the ice. “I wonder if his shield is here too,” Tony asked and launched 2 more probes, the last 2. As Isabella worked she heard and felt the plane groan. Just doing what she did had seemed to make the plane unstable. Obviously the ice wasn’t completely set and pieces of metal bent above her. Tony shuttered a drone down further into the plane and as she burned through the second drone’s power he brought the third over for her to connect to.

“Mrs’ Stark, I’m detecting a weakening in the plane’s hull. I would advise getting out as soon as possible,” Jarvis said. “Ok, you heard em, lets pull the plug babe,” Tony said. His 4th drone found his shield and he managed to tangle the forearm strap onto the bottom of the drone and he began to fly it toward where they came in. Isabella only had Steve’s feet to free left. “I got his shield, we can use it as proof that we found him,” Tony said but Isabella had not budged. “Isabella...come on, if the ice caves in…” He said but didn’t finish that statement.

Isabella was not going to leave without getting Steve Rogers out of the ice. She had no connection to this man, apart from the stories about him she had heard growing up, but she just couldn't leave him there...just like she couldn't leave Kazakhstan without finding Tony. It seemed be built into her DNA to help people. Little did she know at the time that finding Steve Rogers was going to start Tony and herself down a road that they never would have expected to be on.

She knew she was running out of time. She ignored both Jarvis and Tony. She was so close to getting Steve out. She focused solely on that task, although she could hear the groaning from the plane as the ice above threatened to push through the hull. Suddenly, Steve's feet were free. She grabbed hold of him and launched out of the plane just as the ice caved in. It had been a very, very close call and she anticipated Tony would not be pleased with her, but she had him...she had Captain America.

She got back onto the submarine and removed her suit. "We need as many blankets as we can get our hands on. We should also call SHIELD. We're going to need to get his body to them as quickly as possible."

As soon as she was out of the water Tony slammed her back against the wall with his forearm against the base of her helmet. It didn’t hurt, she was still in her suit but his face looked furious. “You risked your life...for a dead man!? How DARE you!” Tony said in a near growl. It was rare that Tony ever expressed this kind of fury but she would see how angry he was. If she wanted to she could push him down like he was a child. “The moment you put on that suit you are no longer Isabella, my wife. You will follow orders or there will be NO suit, do you hear me?” He asked as he shifted back. He could see the fury in her eyes but he felt he had a right to his. However when she shifted and brought up her forearm she showed him the life monitor display.

“He’s ALIVE Tony! His vitals are slow but he’s not dead!” She said angrily and Tony could do nothing but gape. “Get him to the infirmary,” He said and moved toward the cockpit. “But we’re gunna have words about this later!” He warned as he stomped away. Suddenly the sub turned about and headed back as fast as the engines would go.

Isabella got Steve's body back to the infirmary and she grabbed as many blankets as she could find. She pulled off his wet clothes and dried him off. She then put the blankets on top of him. They had heated blankets as well and she put those on him too. She then grabbed hot water bottles and put those next to his body.

Thankfully, the sub was fairly fast and SHIELD agents met them at the docks. Tony and Isabella went with Steve as he was transported to SHIELD HQ. While Tony spoke with Nick and Phil, she looked more closely at the shield. As Tony approached her she looked at him.

"You know I've heard the stories and read about everything that happened in history books, but I never imagined I would one day be holding Captain America's shield. Don't you find it ironic that it was your father that helped create Captain America and you were one of the ones to find him?"

Obviously Isabella thought that considering Steve was alive that Tony would not still be angry with her. She was very wrong. He was interested in what she said about his father but she had scared him half to death and his heart was still raw about that. For a brief moment he had thought she had been crushed to death. “I’m not talking to you right now,” he said as he stepped around her and moved down the hall toward where they had taken Steve. He heard her sigh and start to follow him. Here Tony had respect just like he had when he want just about anywhere. He was never challenged by security and he moved up to the glass where he could look in on Steve Rogers. They had him in a large, metal tub and he had all sorts of wires and tubes all over him as they worked to bring his body temperature up without killing him. Tony just stood there like an emotionless stone.

Isabella sighed and stood there a moment as she watched Tony walk away from her before she began to follow after him. She still had the shield and as she came up to stand beside him she put the shield down and rested it up against the wall. She was quiet a moment before looking over at her husband.

"I'm sorry," she told him sincerely. She didn't say anything else. She wasn't going to argue or make excuses. She wanted her genuine apology to stand on its own. He looked over at her and she slowly moved over and into his arms.

Tony never thought he’d ever heard Isabella apologize before. It was obvious that she hated doing that since he met her. His arms snaked around her and pressed her to him. He took in her scent and tried to stop the tremors that threatened to expose his fear of how close he had come to losing the woman he loved. ‘The ONLY woman’ he had ever loved in his life. In the suit Isabella seeme dot think she was immortal sometimes but the things they faced were far more dangerous that people typically. That Dragon and now the pressure of an entire iceberg. He didn’t say anything right then he just held her against him until he stopped trembling.

After a while there appeared to be more movement inside the room where Steve was being taken care of and they both heard footsteps from down the hall. Nick appeared as they turned toward him.

“So you two find a living piece of history by accident, huh?” he said though it was clear he didn’t believe this to be a completely random incident. “Come with me,” he said as he took them into Steve’s room. They were just removing Steve from the tub and Isabella got quite the eyefull of Steve’s completely ripped body. Every part of him was near to perfect and he still looked quite young...for being, what, 68 years old?

Isabella thought she could actually feel Tony trembling against her. She had never seen him this afraid in the entire time she had known him. She promised herself that she would be more careful in the future. She needed to not just think about herself, but how her actions would impact Tony as well. She had been lucky this time, but she couldn't always count on that luck because one day she might find that that luck wasn't there anymore.

Nick soon appeared and brought them in to see Steve. When Isabella had removed his clothes on the submarine she had been solely focused on getting those wet clothes off so he would begin to dry off. However, now she was able to really look at him. His body was...incredible. She tried to imagine him as a scrawny, sickly young man but she couldn't see it. She didn't say anything about his body though...not in front of Tony...not after her close call earlier.

"So...is he going to be alright?"

Neither of the men seemed to notice that her voice had nearly gone up an octave as she tore her eyes away from Steve. “The body appears to be coming back to life but we don’t know for certain about his mind,” Nick said in his usual flippant fashion. “I don't need to tell you what this could mean if he does wake up. I can count on one hand how many people that have been reported to have taken the super soldier serum. And we don’t want anyone trying to get samples of his blood either. So keep this under wraps if you can Mr. Stark,” Nick said plainly. There was a nurse putting a hospital gown on steve and her approving sigh was audible to her ears as the two men continued to talk.

“His shield is the real deal too, Adamantium Vibranium, probably the hardest substance we’ve ever known about,” he said though he knew of a couple others. Nothing he’d tell Tony about though. “If he does wake up though he might need a guide. Someone to bring him up to speed with the world. 44 years is a long time...like some kind of rip van winkle,” he said then handed her a VHS tape.

“There’s a few videos there that might help you get up to speed on what kind of man Steve Rogers was though his record speaks for itself. Tony shook his head. “I’m not a babysitter Nick. We’re both busy people,” Tony began.

Isabella was surprised to learn that there were other people out there with the Super Soldier Serum in their veins. She knew what the serum could do to a body and she didn't want to imagine what someone with ill intentions would be able to do with it. She also couldn't imagine what it was going to be like for Steve whenever he woke up. Nearly half a century had passed and a lot had happened in the world since he had gone into the ice. She took the VHS tape from Nick and then glanced at Tony.

"I'll stay with him. I feel rather responsible for him now and I want to be here when he wakes up. You go and get some rest."

Tony gave Isabella a discerning look but only for a moment. What she said sounded reasonable. She did inadvertently put herself in the middle of everything and so Tony relented. Isabella was very busy but she had access to a phone and she had capable assistants. He wanted her to go home with him, the urgency to ‘be’ with her was there. Now stronger than it had been inside the submarine. But he would not refuse her for that and he could not think of any other reason.

“Very well,” Tony said resignedly. “Good, its settled then,” Nick said. “You can use the room across the hall,” Nick said then showed himself out. Now that they were alone, though Steve rested quietly near them, Tony only just looked at her.

Isabella began to make a mental list of the important things she would need to tell Steve after he woke up. The most important being that the allies had won the war. She wanted him to know that his sacrifice hadn't been in vain. She became aware that Tony was still there in the room with her and was just looking at her. She slowly looked over at him.
